Next Working Group Meeting for Queer History Month Feb. 5 at the 519

Via email from Casey Oora

Greetings!

What started as an idea on Twitter is slowly but surely blooming into what is looking is to be an exciting project! This past Sunday, a small group of interested persons met to discuss the notion of creating a Canadian Queer History Month. After a productive meeting, the group has decided to continue the dialogue and to open it up so more voices can become involved. As such, we will be holding our second meeting to discuss the creation of a Canadian Queer History Month on Sunday, February 5 @ the 519 (519 Church St.) from 1 PM-3 PM in Room 201.

If you have any further questions/ideas or will be attending this upcoming meeting, please drop me a line at this e-mail. For more information on the project, check out https://lgbtqhistory.wordpress.com/ or follow us on Twitter (@QueerHistory).

I thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you!

In sol,
Casey

  1. Sharon Love says:

How about an International Queer History month, that we launchin Canada? I love this idea! I have about 12,000 emails of gay-friendly activists, so we can easily launch this worldwide..

    • Justin Beach says:

The problem is that the US already has one – In October, and the UK already has one in February. In Canada we are currently looking at May. So setting one international month wouldn’t work for everyone.
